MEET THE IKORODU CRICKETERS - SEPTEMBER 13 2022
#cricket #Nigeria #cricketnews IN March 2022 Cricket was introduced to students of IPAKODO GRAMMAR SCHOOL in Lagos, Nigeria and in APRIL they had a 3 day cricket camp where on a daily basis students would come to learn about the basics of cricket. In APRIL MAJIDUN GRAMMAR SCHOOL joined the introduction to cricket program also in IKORODU. BY June 2022 these cricketers had been intergrated into the LAGOS STATE CRICKET ASSOICIATION cricket training program for under 15 with some of the players already taken a ECB LEVEL COACHING ASSISTANT COURSE run by ECB level 2 CRICKET COACH Ingram Jones. In AUGUST a few of the younger players were selected to represent LAGOS in the upcoming NATIONAL YOUTH GAMES and now the player 15 and over have been selected to be part of the newly registered LAGOS COLTS a combination of under 15 and under 17 Lagos players some whom have played in previous tournaments representing the state and the rest of the players from IKORODU who also have been registered. Today after their first game on Saturday against PIONEERS, A league team in the CCC League which squad consisted of adults vs the colts side... scoring 119 runs with the colts side scoring 50 runs. Ibrahim in this video batted for 10 overs and had NEVER played on a cricket wicket or against adult bowling. Today they talk cricket and what it means to them since the journey started for them. IKORODU should be proud of their students! Well done...
