When Ingram Jones arrived in Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria Cricket was unheard of in 2021. Now in 2024 and after many coaching sessions, camps, exhibiton matches and special events the time has come to bring the cricket playing schools together to show that Ikorodu has talented cricketers. Already the Nigeria Cricket Federation have indentified Omolere as a promising cricketer after her performances at the Abuja national womens tournament as she represented ECSM, The Blastoff Festival will have a mix of next generation cricketers from schools playing softball cricket in a knockout competition, with a coaching clinic for players who couldnt make the school team. Followed by a hard ball exhibtion match with the best players in Ikorodu coached by director Ingram Jones.
"What you will see at the festival is a mix of grassroot players, experienced players and community coaches coming together to celebrate this historic event. A special moment for cricket in the Ikorodu community and Lagos at large, We love to celebrate in Ikorodu, this is the biggest celebration yet and it promises to be the very best simply because I think we have struck the right balance!"
